happy birthday amy!  you are fantastic.

we had a wonderful friday night celebrating amy.  for entertainment i attached a vintage rainbow zig-zag blanket onto the wall... created a photobooth.  i am sharing my favorite images below.

highlights:  amy did the shot-ski with two tall men, she was on her tip toes and could not reach the shot when the time came...  haha  the entire shot went straight down her shirt. oopsy!
tossing glitter in the air.  i am covered in it still today.  got one great shot!

dream job.

fortunalely, i have a collection of anthropologie catalogs to cheer me up on a rainy morning.  filled with colorful pages, amazing product + the most creatively styled layouts.  styling for the catalog, in-store or window design would be a dream job for me!

anthropologies window designs are out of this world... that is an entirely different post i will save for another rainy day.

cardboard is beautiful

art from everyday objects
with a lot of scissor action, spray glue, hot glue and a table saw... my husband and i created two 4'x4' pieces of art for hennis kitchen and bar from 100% cardboard! 

office supplies = hair accessories

i finally have come to understand that my lack of art education could be viewed as a positive. 
i gravitate towards materials i am personally familiar with and try to create art with those.  everyday objects/found objects.  in the end, i create something beautiful out of something mundane, and that brings me joy.

where's dad?

most every morning, rio- my sweet four year old son asks me...
"where's dad, is he at cross-fit or the fire station?"  

garth does spends a lot of time in these two places.  it could be worse!    
he loves crossfit hood river and is training to become a fire fighter and volunteers at the hood river fire

we are so proud of you!  j

ayva, rio and cousin maysie did the most amazing job modeling.  they  had to stand very still, which is NOT easy for kids-- especially mine.  they killed it.  i am a proud mamma and auntie.

Latin Threads's First Photo Shoot

this is my first job as stylist!

recycled material became the coolest photobooth

i created 100's of paper pinwheels for the parts + Labour summer 2010 window design.  When i took the pinwheels down, they were headed to be recycled.
i re-used the pinwheels for my first photobooth.  it was an amazing halloween party hosted by rediviva, held at the windance house, featuring the quick and easy boys.

 i created the photobooth in a trailer.  added some shop lights, connected the camera to a tv monitor and you can see the party within a party here windance party photobooth
